Vintage Casement Stay
A dark bronze vintage casement stay.
This CR 1759 Spoon End Casement Stay is shown here in the “Distressed Oil Rubbed Bronze” finish, suitable for vintage properties. There is also a locking version available, which is the CR 1759-L Locking Spoon End Casement Stay.
A dark finish, such as this oil rubbed bronze stay, works particularly well on white or cream windows/woodwork. This is because the dark window furniture contrasts against the paler woodwork, showing off the ironmongery and giving a vintage aesthetic.
The distressed oil rubbed bronze finish is what we call a “living” finish. It is a dark finish applied over a copper plate, which is turn applied over cast brass. Over time, the orange of the copper will reveal from below the dark finish on the edges, giving a naturally aged appearance.
It’s virtually the same finish as “oil rubbed bronze”, but the metal has been barrell-rolled to cause the slight pitted/distressed look and feel, making these more rustic in appearance.
These sliding stays are also available in a very large range of other finishes and sizes, so will suit virtually any style of property.
